Guacamole . . . MMMMM!
Candi, Matt, Clair

It was a glorious day in Cozumel, Mexico and I had the honor of having lunch ashore with three lovely ladies . . . Candi (Captain Pain, my cruise director), Clair (Guest Services Manager for the Norwegian Dawn), and Kinsey (Norwegian Star Entertainment Administrator).  We had a fabulous lunch of homemade guacamole, margaritas, soup, and fajitas at a restaurant off the beaten path, called La Chosa. I have no doubt it will become a regular Friday excursion . . . at least those Fridays when we dock, rather than tender to shore.

After lunch, Clair and I went on a little shopping excursion.  Her boyfriend collects knives (no, not the kind one uses in a kitchen, but rather, the kind Michael Douglas used to cut through the Colombian jungles in Romancing the Stone).  So, we went on a trek to find a Christmas present for Clair’s boyfriend, who, incidentally, boards the Dawn on Sunday, as the Staff Captain (#2 in charge).  We ended up finding a really cool knife with a wooden (cherry, maybe?) handle, and brass trim in a leather sheath.  Then, there was a smaller knife, of the same design, on top of the big one.  It was a great find and I think I’m as excited as Clair is to have him open it on Christmas day.

I had to get a photo w/ this tree for my friend Carol Blanchard - she loves pink flamingos!
On the way back to the ship, Clair and I stopped and very briefly put our feet into the water.  Walking along the pier on the way back to the ship, in the sunshine, with a lovely breeze blowing, and blue water all around me, I had a realization that I have one of the coolest walks “to the office” that one could ask to have.
