Back on October 19 or 20,
when I visited my parents for 24 hours, during my day off from rehearsals (this
is when I was in Tampa), their next-door-neighbors, the Shanahans (from
Buffalo, NY) shared that they would be on the Norwegian Dawn in January. At the time, I was only supposed to be
on from Oct. 1 – Nov. 18, and then be on the Norwegian Sun. Well, here it is, January 15 and the
Shanahans are on board. They
called me (via the guest services desk) this afternoon and I suggested they
swing by my office tonight, before the late show. They did. It
was fun to see them, and I offered to give them, and the couple with whom they
are traveling, a backstage tour if they wished. We’ll see if they take me up on it. Mrs. Shanahan had a battle with cancer
about a year ago, but looks terrific!
They said they’re having a great time. I still think it’s humorous that they’re here this week and
my parents are here next. Ah well,
somebody’s gotta keep an eye on the homestead, right?
