What a glorious day at sea
today was! The water was so calm,
there was a lovely breeze, and the skies were quite clear. I had breakfast with Mom and Dad in the Garden Cafe (buffet), after
which, we walked the promenade deck.
We started the first of several games of dominoes today, and Mom &
Dad played bingo.
Monday is “Norwegians Night
Out,” and is the optional formal night.
We dressed up (though not in tuxedos and gowns) and had an early dinner
(5:30pm) at Le Bistro, the French restaurant on the ship. We had eaten in the same restaurant on the Pride of America
nearly a year ago (one week shy of a year) and all loved the escargot, so we
partook in that this evening. I
tried the duck . . . I’m not a fan.
Ah well.
I went to work for the
7:15pm performance of PURE VARIETY, while Mom and Dad attended the V.I.P.
Captain’s cocktail party in the Spinnaker Lounge. After my 7:15 performance, I met them at the Spinnaker Lounge and we watched the
Newlywed/Not-so-newlywed game show, which was great fun. Truth be told, I caught up to them
partway through, and had to leave before it ended, so that I could go and hold
seats for them in the theater, but it was still fun. Mom and Dad arrived at the Stardust Theater to claim their
seats, and watched the 9:15 performance of PURE VARIETY, the variety show,
starring the production cast, and loved it. I do think it’s one of my two favorite production shows (out
of the 3 on board).
After that, they were beat
and went to bed. I headed back to
the Spinnaker Lounge for the production cast’s 10:45pm ABBA medley performance,
and then went to bed. We turn our clocks back
an hour tonight, which is wonderful (it’s when we have to jump forward on
Friday nights that stinks). So
far, the “relaxing cruise," full of reading and just enjoying the ship, has been more like the Energizer bunny (going and
going and going) for Mom and Dad . . . though they are enjoying the ship, and I think having a great time.
