OK, so per my mother’s request (and the dismay of my
neighbors, Wendy & Andy, and my Polish family, Maciej & Ewa), I’m going
to write a few final posts as I wrap up this contract.
Today we departed Tampa for the last time. We are now on a repositioning cruise to
. . . well, reposition the ship for the summer months. Starting May 3, the ship will sail
weekly itineraries between Boston and Bermuda. That lasts until sometime in September (I think) when it
will do a weekly New England itinerary, until late fall when it repositions
back to Tampa for the winter 2013-2014 season. I was scheduled to have brunch with Mom and Dad today, but
on Friday, we decided that since they have been so busy, and since I will be
seeing them on May 8, we’d forget it.
It was good, since my replacement boarded this morning, and I wanted to
greet her. She’ll be training with
me for the next 12 days. In
addition, the production supervisor, from shore side, came aboard with some
contractors that looked at the theater, in preparation for the building of a
new rehearsal studio in Tampa. I
finally got off the ship about 11:45am, went to the ATM in Ybor City one last
time, and went to the coffee shop, where I had become a regular, to make some
telephone calls, and do some computer/(free) internet work.
